Hydraulic Breaker Chisels and Rods
Replacement chisels and rods are matched by breaker model, shank dimensions and retaining profile. Specify the working-tip shape separately. If the part number is missing, send a full-tool photo and a close-up of the upper shank.

The chisel models and diameters shown are reference examples from only part of our range. Please inquire about other diameters, shank arrangements and specifications.
Choose the tool tip, then confirm the shank
Choose the tip for the task and the shank for the breaker. Two tools can have the same diameter but different retaining profiles, so compare the upper-shank drawing as well as the working end.
| Requested tip | Application to describe in your inquiry | Details to specify |
|---|---|---|
| Moil point | Localized breaking where a pointed working end is requested. Rock type and block size and intended task. | Point profile, shank drawing and required length. |
| Chisel / wedge | Work where an oriented cutting edge is requested. Explain the desired direction and working access. | Edge width, orientation relative to retaining features, and profile. |
| Blunt | Breaking where a flat striking face is requested. Rock type and block size, piece size and work position. | Face diameter, shank profile and length. |
| Special profile | A task requiring another working shape. | Send a sketch or reference image for review. |
These descriptions help specify an inquiry; they do not establish material suitability or stock availability. Confirm the proposed tool and its intended use with the quotation.
Tool measurement reference
Schematic only, not an NLB production drawing. Actual profiles and retention arrangements vary. Include detailed photographs and the relevant drawing for the requested part.
- Record shank diameter D and overall length L with units.
- Show the retaining profile from more than one side; add its position and dimensions from the applicable drawing.
- Identify the desired tip and any orientation requirement.
- State if the existing tool is worn, broken or shortened so its measured size is interpreted correctly.
For nominal NLB diameter references, use the NLB model table. For a replacement, also review the tool identification guide and the matching bushings and rod pins. Displayed models and dimensions represent part of the range; inquire about other specifications.
Email us your requirementsYour email app will open with a checklist. Fill in the details and attach any photos or drawings before sending.
Show both the tool and the requested shape
Photograph the complete tool, then show the upper shank and retaining features in close-up. These details distinguish tools with the same nominal diameter. Include the existing tip and the replacement shape you need.
If you have existing dimensional records, include the tool diameter, overall length and the measurements shown for its retaining profile. Note whether those values come from an original drawing or a used tool.
- Breaker identification and any tool or chisel reference.
- Photographs of the whole tool, upper profile and tip.
- Available diameter, length and profile dimensions, with units.
- The requested tip shape, quantity and a brief description of the intended work.
Check shank fit before ordering
Ask for the proposed tool reference, relevant dimensions and tip description to be stated before ordering. Diameter alone should not be treated as confirmation of a match. Send the information you have. We can review the model, photos and available measurements, then tell you which dimensions are still needed to identify the tool.
Chisel and rod inquiries
Can I ask for a different tip shape?
Describe or show the shape you want. Availability and the proposed tool details must be confirmed in the quotation.
I only know the tool diameter. Can I still inquire?
Yes. Add photographs and the breaker identification if available. Further profile information may be required before a match can be confirmed.
What if the existing tool is worn?
State that it is a used tool and note visible wear in your photographs. An original reference or drawing is useful if you have one.

How to Identify Hydraulic Breaker Parts
Use your NLB model to identify the nominal tool diameter
The NLB models shown here provide tool diameter references from 40 mm on NLB40 to 210 mm on NLB210. Examples include 68 mm on NLB68, 100 mm on NLB100, 120 mm on NLB120 and 125 mm on NLB125. These are separate model references even where carrier ranges overlap.
Use the series table to establish the listed diameter, then check the tool’s upper profile, retaining features and overall length against the correct drawing. Matching diameter alone does not establish interchangeability with another tool.
